Early detection of hearing loss is crucial for effective treatment and helping to reduce long term damage. This web application is recommended for people who are at higher risk of hearing loss, such of people who work in loud conditions, listen to loud music regularly or are over the age of 60. The test requires the use of headphones and is available on iOS and Android devices. 


BMI Calculator (NHS)

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of your weight in relation to your height. Monitoring your BMI helps promote good health and working to keep within a healthy BMI range ensures you have a reduced risk of developing diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Below you will find the BMI measurement and what it indicates about your weight:

  •  18.5 or lower = underweight 
  •  18.5 to 25 = healthy weight 
  •   25 to 30 = overweight
  •   Over 30 = obese 

It is important to note that if you are pregnant or suffering from an eating disorder, BMI calculator results will not apply to you. 


How are You? (NHS)

The NHS ‘How are You?’ quiz is an online quiz that assess you everyday health. The test is for adults over the age of 18 and addresses really important health and wellbeing questions such as the following:

  • What is your mental health like lately?
  • How much alcohol do you consume?
  • What is your diet like?
  • How much physical exercise are you getting?

At the end of the quiz you will be given a score out of 10, with 10 being the healthiest you can be and 1 being the least healthy you can be. The quiz will then suggest some lifestyle changes you can make to improve your overall health, everything from physical health to mental health.
